Animals are all around us! They live in different places.

Some animals are big like elephants and whales.

Birds have wings and can fly in the sky.

Fish live in water and have fins to swim.

Dogs and cats have four legs and soft fur.

All animals need food, water, and a place to live to be happy!

Day and Night

Every day has daytime and nighttime!

In the daytime, the sun is up in the sky. The sun gives us light and makes everything bright. We can play, go to school, and see our friends.

At nighttime, the sun goes down and the moon comes out. The sky gets dark and we can see stars twinkling. It's time to sleep and rest.

The sun is very hot and bright. It helps plants grow and keeps us warm.

The moon shines at night but it's not as bright as the sun. We can see different shapes of the moon on different nights!

Plants Are Alive!

Plants are living things! They grow and change just like you.

Plants have different parts. They have roots that grow in the dirt. Roots drink water from the ground.

Plants have a stem that holds them up tall and strong.

Plants have leaves that are usually green. Leaves catch sunlight!

Many plants have pretty flowers with different colors like red, yellow, and purple.

Plants need three things to grow: sunlight, water, and air. Just like you need food to grow big and strong!

All About Weather

The weather changes every day!

On sunny days, the sky is blue and the sun shines bright. It feels warm outside. Perfect for playing!

On cloudy days, gray clouds cover the sky. It might feel cooler.

On rainy days, water drops fall from the clouds. You need an umbrella! Rain helps plants grow.

On snowy days, soft white snowflakes fall from the sky. Everything looks white! Snow is frozen water and it's very cold.

On windy days, you can feel the air moving. Wind can blow leaves and make trees sway!
